AO on The Radio

I joined 103.6FM Tameside Radio in March 2008 to present a rock show every Saturday evening at 6pm. In addition to that I have been an active volunteer at Radio Starlion since 1989 presenting the Saturday afternoon sports Programme.

  Singer/songwriter Liam Blake talks about his new album "You and Other Stories" which was released on Helium records on the 18th July. • MelonHeadMan Interview (5/3/11) [Listen]
  Shortly after the release of their second single "This Life", I spoke to Lead singer and guitarist Simon Savage. The new single follows the huge success of their debut album "The Good & The Bad" and retains the bands own brand of highly entertaining, southern rock. Influenced by Lynyrd Skynyrd, Mott The Hoople and Black Oak Arkansas, MelonHeadMan's music is part Skynyrd, part country, and part bluegrass. • Rockburn Interview (26/2/11) [Listen]
  Shortly before the release of their new single "Runnin’ Wild" I was joined on the phone by Stephen Baxter and Chris Rogers from Rockburn. They are a scottish rock band who have supported Wishbone Ash, played at the Cavern Club and had their music used in an American TV drama. In addition to that they've had some of their songs adopted by certain football clubs during half time.   Formed in 2004, The Volantes are a four piece rock band from Tameside. • New Horizons (1/10/06) [Listen]
  Pure 107.8FM is Stockport's community radio station which began broadcasting in 2006. For the first six months, our hospital radio station Radio Station, provided a regular 30 minute programme for inclusion in New Horizons on Sunday mornings. I hosted the first show with Alan Swallow, our Station Manager, as my guest.

  Eamonn O'Neal is a producer at Granada TV, and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Wagg, presents Sport on BBC Radio Manchester (formerly BBC GMR). Together they provide their own brand of humour on a Sunday morning.
